Continuing to Build Capacity for Ministry
The Anglican Church, Diocese of Tarime conducted a seminar for Pastors and Evangelists from February 18 to 21, 2026, with the aim of developing and strengthening the capacity of these ministers in their service and spiritual growth. The seminar included in depth teachings on spiritual ministry, evangelism strategies, and training on effective ways to serve both the community and the Church. 59 Ministers and evangelists (49 Men and 10 Women) from all 33 parishes of the Diocese of Tarime attended the seminar.

The Bishop of the Diocese of Tarime, Bishop Rt. Rev John Msuma Nyaitara, emphasized the importance of such seminars in strengthening the Church’s ministry and empowering pastors and evangelists to carry out their responsibilities more effectively. He noted that these seminars are part of the ongoing efforts to enhance the Church’s mission in the context of social and spiritual changes. He further stated that the Diocese currently has a limited number of ministers, highlighting the urgent need for a greater workforce in proclaiming Christ.

The pastors and evangelists demonstrated great enthusiasm in participating and learning, and many acknowledged that the seminar would enable them to serve more effectively and improve their ministry to the faithful. The Anglican Church, Diocese of Tarime continues its commitment to organizing similar seminars and training programs to ensure that pastors and evangelists are well-equipped to respond to the challenges of ministry in today’s context. The goal is to build a strong Church that serves the community with excellence and love.
